Drapery Rosette
- Cloth coverings hanging in loose folds
- The artistic arrangement of clothing in sculpture or painting
- Drapery is a general word referring to cloths or textiles (Old French drap, from Late Latin drappus ). It may refer to cloth used for decorative purposes - such as around windows - or to the trade of retailing cloth, originally mostly for clothing, formerly conducted by drapers.

Designs in Silk
Collaborating with designers can be interesting, but often, some of my best work is done when I'm allowed to suggest some of the designs myself rather than simply "follow orders". Some of the best designers know that utilizing someone else's imagination can result in some out of the box, distinctive results. With basic groundwork laid, such as how large the items should be, which direction the patterns should run, etc., having some freedom to let the fabrics show at their best really makes the end results a whole lot better!
These pillows and drapery tiebacks were done for one of Daytona's best decorators, Doshia Porte. They were for a luxury condo. The fabrics were silk, and all the appliques and rosettes were sewn by hand.

The window treatment was the focal point for the entire room. We did everything else in the home creatively on a small budget, but the client decided the window treatment would make the room special, so she was willing to set more aside for this rich treatment. It gave the room and all the furnishings glamour which the client really appreciates. Notice the detail of the extra large rosette.
